Re: voice recognition

What is your SAPI (MS Speech Engine) version ? (on your system)

In French, there is/was a "problem" (no troll inside) with Vista : the SAPI version is/was 5.3 (English version included) but the French version (not included !)  is/was 5.1 .... => i install an other SAPI (version 5.1)

The same thing with 7 Chinese ?

Re: voice recognition

how about these:
Open Source speech recognition engines such as Sphinx, ISIP, Julius and HTK (note: HTK has distribution restrictions).

No. There is a version to work with SAPI, it is exact, but it can use under windows without SAPI. Julius supports *nix too (and here, no SAPI inside ! smile)
Julius may be a good solution ?

Sphinx seems like a good library. I had already studied (a little !) :
This project is :
- active
- free (BSD License)
- multi language (especially C)
- multi-plateform (All win, *nix, *bsd, macosx, android, ...)
- compatible with VoxForge
- ...

But, like all similars projects, it is weighty and slow (and with a very imperfect rendering). Make a real time is difficult. If it is just for few commands (like "Open", "Left", "Red" ...), ok. Otherwise, i don't know.
The best way should be any links with other specific applications (or system components). Include this to Scol is too hard and too heavy.

Synthesys is easier.

Re: voice recognition

I am having a similar issue with regard to voice recognition. I am using Microsoft Speech Recognizer 8.0 for Windows. In my case the problem is that every time I will have to open this function manually. But in the case of a friend of mine it will open automatically whenever he starts his system. Can anybody help me in this regard?
