Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

Hello Arkeon. Unfortunately still have the same problem. After the second press of the play button the app crashed. After importing an object and pressing scale, rotate and move, the application crashed. I wonder if there is a file loss or error because I extracted the archive with 7z? I will also try with winrar. Maybe I'm not extracting the archive properly.

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

I tried version 1.90 in beta and it's not bad with DirectX11. Of course, there are still some bugs that have been fixed, such as the application screen that remains frozen in the vehicle demo and in certain other demos. There are also still shader display issues that appear yellow in some demos like the Industry demo and FPS Demo. There is a shader display issue in the kit kitchen demo where lines are seen on the character.

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

Hello,

The DirectX11 renderer involve that 3D models must have Texture coords and normals if the generated shader use them, otherwise the rendering fail.

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

You can download again the OS3D 1.90 Beta 2 https://www.openspace3d.com/downloads/OpenSpace3d_BETA

The D3D11 issues have been corrected (HDR (yellow scenes) and glow was broken)

The Beta 2 introduce the support of the PICO4 standalone VR headset as a new export platform. : https://www.picoxr.com/fr/products/pico4

Same as Oculus Quest2 (maybe better) but without the Meta limitations and personal informations tracking ^^
To use the VR headset on Windows you need the Pico link software https://www.picoxr.com/fr/software/pico-link

VR templates and demos are updated to match the openXR controllers positions correctly.

To update your VR projects you will have to use the OpenXR plugIT, (when a project use the Oculus mobile plugit it's automatically replaced by the OpenXR plugIT) and adjust the grabbed objects and controller positions.

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

Thanks arkeon for fixing the problem with DirectX11.

Yes I have already heard of the PicoXR headsets which are produced by the Chinese company Bytedance, the same company which created the Douyin application (Tik Tok for the Western market).

Will version 1.90 be released next week before Christmas?

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

I tested that it is improved but there is still some shader bug especially with the lights in the industry and FPS demo. I tested the vehicle demo and there is a display bug especially on the textures which are far away and when I press the i button to show the 3D info the screen freezes.

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

Thanks for the report, indeed I don't think I will be able to correct the D3D11 display Bugs on old demos for now, it must be because of the mimap generated in textures.

I'll check for the freeze anyway.

I think the release will wait for the first week of 2023 smile

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

Have a good holiday and I can't wait to see version 1.90 in 2023. Otherwise I have other plugit requests but it will be for a next version of OpenSpace after the release of version 1.90. We are slowly approaching version 2.0 of OpenSpace3D and I can't wait to see what Openspace3D will look like in version 2.0. I hope OpenSpace3D version 2.0 will take OpenSpace3D to a whole new level. I really like OpenSpace3D but the only problem is that it's little known as a software, especially by the video game and VR application creation communities. I also wish you a happy new year 2023 filled with health, joy but also novelty for OpenSpace3D.

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

The freeze was because of the physics debug material. I corrected it.

Thanks, I wish you the same smile

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

I saw you added an option to enable common extensions. Do you think in the future to add an extension tab for example downloaded plug it and third party extensions that the community would have created? Of course it would take detailed documentation to teach people how to create plugins and extensions.

Re: OpenSpace3D 1.90 Beta

Hello,

the commit is about optional OpenXR extensions like hand tracking or passthrough for now.

OS3D extensions are just plugITs smile
