I've had a thought though. Is there a config file for the portable version where I can edit the network settings fro SCOL. On the full install I have on my home PC I notice there is an option to configure the network settings and add a proxy.
Out school internet is behind a proxy server, this could be related to that

on portable version you have to manually edit the usm.ini and usmress.ini files
But since the aapt is himself a stand alone executable this settings won't affect it.
did your tried to access www. example .com ?

I'm working on core team to allow a change to the firewall but it's proving difficult.

Hello a user just email me that he found the ip address used by aapt.exe.
You can ask your admin to add timestamp.digicert.com to your firewall rules. It's needed to validate the android certificate.

I've passed it on thank you. Now we are looking at firewall permission etc the info I get back from our core IT support team is limited but i am still hopefull that we can get this running. I'm planning on demoing the software to our 6th form this month.

Looks like unblockeing the IP seemed to work this is resolved. I now have a new problem which i'll log sperately
