Bluetooth Controller input,

Hello everyone,
I'm new to Openspace 3D and started to import my own models for VR
I bought a Bluetooth controller from EMTEC called the Gempad, once connected to my phone
the only buttons that work just spin around the view area, there is no navigation yet other VR apps work with the controller fine,
This got me thinking and wonder if its a controller/button input issue
In the program is it possible to assign your own controller buttons if I want to navigate throughout my model?
if so what are the processes, after I import everything

I believe I have to insert the joypad properties correct then from there
where do I go?

Thank you

Re: Bluetooth Controller input,

Hello,

you need the fps navigation plugIT to control the camera as a first player view.
then link :
joypad.control -> fps.control

that's it

Re: Bluetooth Controller input,

Hello arkeon thanks for the response,

after following your advise I still cannot move throughout my model, It is only reading one button which spins me around using one of the joysticks on the controller,

This what I have

[Orientation] ----(control----[FPS like controller Inst]---- (control)---- [joypad inst] -

Perhaps I misread what you said? or maybe it's another issue

Re: Bluetooth Controller input,

you mean ?
Orientation.control -> FPS like controller Inst
and
joypad inst.control -> FPS like controller Inst

what is the model of the joypad ?
I tested with several controllers, and some have a "mouse mode" you can try switching the mode

Re: Bluetooth Controller input,

I apologize my terminology might be a little off but

[] I referred to as the inputs we put in the scene,  ---- with the links, and (as the type of linkage)

My model is from EMTEC and it is called the Gempad
it does have a mouse mode and game mode,
it is only reading the mouse mode and not the game mode after I switch the modes

Re: Bluetooth Controller input,

basically I use the android NDK API for gamepad support, there is no other choice and the events are filtered by device type, so if the constructor did not respect the buttons code provided by android SDK really I can't tell hmm

maybe that some gamepad are not compatible with android NDK I've no idea ^^

The only way for me to debug it is to get the same gamepad and check the events it sends so I can manage this special case.

Re: Bluetooth Controller input,

can you please offer us a module to control the kinect to walk through a 3d model, like a house 3d model for example?
can you lead us to use Kinect to control buttons in our screen? chose a 3d model garment for example to wear it on real time .. like the AR cloth change room?
many thanks in advance for your efforts

Re: Bluetooth Controller input,

Hi..i am a new user here. Recently tried a Bluetooth controller with frontier and the game seems to think the input is a keyboard brining up a white text input screen. 3 different controllers have the same issue, but I read that frontier supports generic HID controllers. Is this a bug or is there some setting I'm missing?

Re: Bluetooth Controller input,

Hello and welcome,

OS3D do not manage text inputs so if you get a white input screen this must be because of an another app on your phone.
Clean up your phone apps, remove apps installed with the gamepad, you should not need it.
