what I did for the next android version :
when the screen is > 1920 I set the 3D buffer to factor 0.5 (useful for 2560 width screens)
for other resolutions there is also an automatic ratio to avoid high resolution on old devices with base low resolution.
So the performances should be a bit better on some devices.
unfortunately I made some tests on a galaxy tab 4 and it do not support surface geometry correctly (for downsampling), so the base 1280 x 800 resolution is used but with very bad performances ^^
The current devices are evolving so fast and depending the price the performances can be more than 4x the previous version (it seems the case for samsung tablets) so it's very hard to optimize for all devices, more when some of them just do not support some important features.
