Ah that's ace - I was just going to post that testing at home seemed to work on the final version. I'll get them to replace it on the machines tomorrow.
Thank you for confirmation

Hi @arkeon. Is the following expected behaviour or am i missing something?
Portable version 1.91 Beta 4
Change the folder directory to a fixed path say f:\openspace so its a students home directory
User save to this folder but the files aren't actually saved here they appear in the locked partition folder on Drive C
If a student creates a folder in the f:\openspace folder this is created locally ands then replicated in the locked partition.
It looks like students are saving to their home drives but are actually saving to the locked partition. Is this how its supposed to work?
It causes an issue when students move computers (they don't always have the same machine in the same room) or if a computers local drive is wiped.
Should the files not actually save in the location set in the config?
Thanks
Damian
Ignore me it's the beta version i need. THey downloaded 1.90.
You can try the last beta version.
The portable version include the user partition path in settings window.
For example you can copy one portable version in c:/ and configure the openspace3d user folder in U:\openspace3d or in %documents%/openspace3dThis have been asked by French academia for schools.
Can you let me know where this setting is as I can't find it.
THanks
Damian
Thata a good idea
Ok - I thought they appeared in the documents folder. That will be the issue then as there is limited C drive access.
The problem with the portable version you'd need each student to have their own copy in the user area otherwise other students that have access to the same computer wan access the files which has caused issues in the past.
Hi we've recently re-installed at school (V1.90)
We have the base install + window and android packs as well as the 3D models pack. However I we seem to be missing the assets eg primitives and planes.
Have I missed something that i should have installed?
Thanks
Damian
Sorry if this appears twice
Physics is enabled in the physics settings option.
When you install this example on the quest you can even move towards the door to grab the key.
I'd looked at that one but couldn't get it to work with the quest
Hi Arkon,
So I'm a little bit further on and am now looking at moving around and say opening a door.
Looking at the tutorial "Generic VR Tutorial - Tutorial scene.
I can't see how the actions of grabbing the door handle makes the door open. Can you point me at the links i should be looking at.
Thanks
Damian
Where about I've obviously missed that. It's not in the edit dialog instance
I'll keep trying but as soon as i add the template then the dialog box becomes very /far away
The open a web page bit doesn't matter. It was just for test purpose thought that would be a simple open url option. I just want a menu that can select items via buttons to play a sound, video or show/hide a picture/text.
When I use a dialog box with the template it's really, really small.
yeah that's what i'd set. I'm doing something wrong
>you must use VR dialog interfaces (depending of the plugIT you use, some manage VR automatically)
>for custom interface define the position and size of the main frame as a vr element.
Do you mean for the interface type? Set to VR rather than 2D. I can't see any specific setting in the frame options from the elements list?

I'm really struggling with this one Arkeon. For testing I have a simple custom interface with one button. When you click the button it opens a URL. I just want to be able to use the hand controller on the quest 2 to be able to press the button.
Any simple basic pointer would help.
Thanks
Damian
Is there a tutorial or could you point me in the right direction for openxr.
initially i just want to be able to use the quest controller to select from the menu.
I've got the oculus nation demo running so I know the connection will work
Is there an update to the guide to get me started? I bought the book way back before the quest exisited
Thanks
Damian
Is there a method to include a minecraft world in OpenSpace in a similar manner to how SketchUp is demonstrated?
Thanks
Damian
Is there a minimum or recommended spec to run OpenSpace3D apps on an android tablet
CPU Type
Memory
GPU
Thanks
Damian
ah ok.
Thanks
Is there a way of optimising the 3D models like the sample cow and dinosaurs then that I can do?
Thanks
Yeah, just playing and I can get the cow and the Trex to load in the same app but that's about it.
Was trying to do a demonstration for open evening on Tuesday and have a really cool Jurasic walk set up in my classroom. Works fine on my two personal samsung phones but not on any other devices i've tried it on. The screen just stays black.
I'll try and build a new one today that is just one animal and change the walk to a photo booth and add the screen capture instance.
Thanks
Damian
ok - will give it a bash tongiht. I was just using the cow, trex etc from the models section. It feels more than this though as it works on an old S4mini with very little memory but fails on an Galaxy Tab 4 with plenty of storage and memory space
I havve created an app which is a copy of the ARCARDs demo file to test using multiple tags.
I'm runng 1.30 on Windows 10 (64bit) when i install the app on my Samsung S4min and £5 phones it works perfectly. When i install the app on my galaxy TAb (SM-T533 android 5.1.1) or on my zoomstorm Sl8 (android 4.4) or on my Asus ME176CX (android 5.1) the app launches but the camera doesn't start and i just get a blank screen.
This problem seems to be happening on just about every device i try other than the S4 and S5 phones. I must be doing something wrong. Any help gretfully recieved.
Damian
Ok - thank you. I'll check the version at work
