Marker Detection

Good evening, once again a newbie question, I have a marker of 600px*600px, its being detected once I am really near, like 30 cm between the mobile and the marker, same on the simulator; how can I increase the detection distance fro like using the cam while I am 3 meters away and detecting the marker? thank you in advance

Re: Marker Detection

It depends on the quality of the sensor (camera). Depending the type of the marker. Try to picture upload it. Apply the most black points ... well recognize.
That's my theory - I also novice who uses markers smile

Re: Marker Detection

Thank you for your reply, a black and white marker is better than an image marker? is there any settings in the camera that can increase the detection?

Re: Marker Detection

Image Marker Selection Tips:(I follow)

1. Always select the image with more trackable points. This could be done by adding edge, line, contour like features to the image.
2. Upload the image to the vuforia target manager and check whether it is augmentable. (Try to get 5 stars)
3. If you are not getting 5 stars, try to add more features to the image(line, polygons, contours etc.)

Re: Marker Detection

Hello Arkeon,

Now I ask you here and hope you can support me
I have to put augmented reality cups, its shape is a cylinder, and did various exercises and everything is fine, the ARmarker is printed on cups, but the curvature of the cup causes unstable and easily lose augmented reality , and increase "Maximum detected features" to 1000 and if I found improvement but still somewhat unstable, my question is is there any way to make it more stable augmented reality?

My other question I have seen videos of augmented reality where the label is a three-dimensional physical object (sculpture, toy, truck etc.) OSD3 have any option to place an object augmented reality like this? It is for an Android application.

Greetings and thanks for your support.

Re: Marker Detection

Hello

augmented reality algorithm in OS3D are for planar tracking only.
some exist for object tracking from 3D shape or cylindrical projection, but nope it's not available in OS3D yet ^^

what you can try to do the trick is to use only a small part of the picture on your cylinder so it will minimize the projection error
