Is it possible to add a new plugit for detecting the text and numbers using opencv text detection features.

I'm not familiar with opencv OCR but I think the training database must be sort of heavy

if text recognition is not possible how to add a custom marker(not image marker) as that of vuforia having the free space in the middle of the marker.

such algorithm are not implemented yet.
I could be possible with artoolkit "classic markers" maybe, but it's not implemented yet neither

if your goal is to make an app for alphabet learning, you can use fancy drawing pictures for each letter, so the marker is more ludique and the complexity of the drawing will help to recognize the marker better.
